Is driving a really loud car in a city as fun as it seems? Also on a scale of 1 to 10, how much of an ass did you feel like. I drove my car without mufflers and resonators and felt like quite the asshat, although I had a blast. Disturbing the peace, Ludacris style.

Don't think so. I think you're hearing the driver lift off the throttle. There's no tell-tale engine rev before the clutch releases (the "VROOMvroooOOOM"). At least that's what I heard

That's an absolutely horrible sound for this car. It sounds about like he just detached the headers from the motor. If you could figure out how to get this sound on a Civic, tho, you'd make millions!

Loud cars are fun. Just have to sound good that's all and not be too obnoxious. It's usually pretty easy to make a turbo'd car sound great. N/a is a completely different story especially on anything less then a 6 cyl.

My turbo Cobalt. Perfect sounding dd. No drone or raspy noise at all. Only mod is a 3" catless downpipe.

I love the way it sounds, but he seems to drive like every other self important new German car owner. Too heavy on the throttle, lots of noise, never gets past 2nd gear, stomping on it only to come to a stop 200 feet later.

it seem to be turning into a trend here to in NYC for the tasteless to buy a hich class sedan (2nd audi i have seen) and straightpipe the whole exhaust system

does not sound good, makes the car sound cheap and haven ued staright pipe system on my car before, i know it sacrifices a lot of low end grunt.

I think it's fun for a while. My old WRX was pretty loud for a bit. However, it was kind of silly that it was loud even at partial throttle when slowly accelerating. I would drive around wondering how many people were looking at me as the annoying guy with the loud slow car.

It sounds really good right up until that raspiness kicks in. Some people like that. I don't; it's the equivalent of having a bee buzzing in my ear but much, much louder. Good, clean exhaust sounds are much more ... pleasing.

Wow NY looks like a great place to drive a fast car . I don't think you would ever have to shift past second gear EVER in New York. Think of all the money and effort you would save by not having to shift as much... I bet the mpgs are like 8 mpgs . freaking amazing!

Loud, but not quite as loud as my buddy's old M6 with headers and a full RPI exhaust. He bought it in Queens and got pulled over LITERALLY 2 blocks after buying it for the exhaust. It was so obnoxiously loud that the car could be heard driving normally a half mile away.

And to anyone asking, it is a SHITLOAD of fun to drive a loud car in NYC.

APR is always my first and usually only choice for aftermarket VAG parts. Not sure if they make one for the Q7 but their 4.2 RSC is amazing and not so obnoxious
